loficharm: (curious)

He isn't expecting her to reiterate the same question she'd already asked, but then, he can answer more freely here, can't he? His smile softens a little more. "I am," he says, careful to keep his voice low. "You didn't hurt me very badly. It was just a shock. But I know you didn't mean to. It's all right."

Hopefully that will set her at ease on his account, at least.

He wasn't prepared to have to ask another question so quickly — wasn't expecting her first question to be such a simple one. But it's only fair to play by the rules she's set. He'd like to keep his questions easy, nothing related to that day, but maybe that's the wrong approach. Speaking of fairness, it's a bit much to ask her to bring up all the hard topics. Maybe he ought to take that step first.

So, he pulls in a breath and averts his eyes downward, wanting to choose his words carefully.

"How did you know what was in your file?" he asks after a moment. He sort of knows this already, but he'd like to hear her explanation on the whole thing. If she even understands what she was able to do, or... he's not sure what. His biggest curiosity is probably how she was able to infiltrate John's dreams, and this is about as close to asking that as he can get without phrasing it quite so intensely. Keeping the focus on her, on what matters to her, feels like the best way to go about this.
