loficharm: (child - startled)

Martin looks nervously between John and Mr. Keane for a moment. He's no longer certain how to feel about the offer of police, given how sure Mr. Keane seems that they won't help. He still has no idea how to feel about any of this; he's scared and cold and hungry and he feels like he could just keep on crying if he weren't so desperate not to make things worse. But the offer of proper clothes — he almost doesn't care where they go or what happens after that. As though having clothes that fit will make everything else easier. He feels a desperate hope that John will go along with it; if he refuses, they'll have to keep being like this and Martin doesn't think he can handle that.

He doesn't refuse outright, though. It's a smart question. They can't go getting into a car with Mr. Keane or something. If there's someplace nearby, though...

Martin doesn't say anything, in the end, just looking up hopefully, waiting for Mr. Keane's answer.
